Hi, It's me. Or maybe it isn't.

I received a phone call from some, some, some MAN (emphasis on the man). Even though I have our phone number on the do not call list, we occasionally get phone calls from someone that didn't get the memo that we are not interested in whatever they are selling.

Thanks to caller ID, I usually don't answer the phone unless the I recognize the number. Or when I haven't had any adult conversations, then I pick up the phone in desperation and talk to whoever is on the other end until they get tired of me talking and they hang up on me.

But yesterday, I was distracted and didn't look at the caller ID, so here is how my conversation went.

Me: Hello
Man: Hi, Mrs. Harriet?
Me: I'm sorry, you've got the wrong number.
Man: (getting irate) No, I know you are Mrs. Harriet.
Me: No, I am not Mrs. Harriet. You have the wrong number.
Man: I know you are Daisy Harriet, so quit saying you are not.
Me: Look man, you don't know who I am because you can't see me. (stick tongue out at phone)I am not Daisy Harriet, you have the wrong number. I've told you people lots of times before that this is not the correct phone number for Daisy Harriet.
Man: I know you think you're not Daisy Harriet, but you are.

I knew I had a problem all this time. I've been pretending to be me when in fact I'm somebody else.

Do you have a chihuahua for sell?

I received a strange phone call yesterday morning. Come to think of it, I receive strange phone calls quite frequently. Hmm.

Anyway, when I answered, it was a man. I thought it was one of Hubster's friends playing a joke on me. The man had a hick accent while I just had a confused accent.

Here is how the conversation went.

Me: Hello? (notice how we usually answer with a question )

Man: Good morning ma'am!

Me: Good morning.

Man: How are you this morning?

Me: Fine thank you. (my mom taught me good manners. Ha Ha)

Man: Ma'am, I have a question and if I have the wrong number, I apologize in advance.

So now I am a little worried. I was going to tell him this wasn't one of those date numbers you call. Or those new ads that say "call and we can flirt". No sir, that's not this number. Only to Hubster.

Man: Ma'am, do you have a chihuahua for sell?

Me: No sir I don't.

Man: I'm sorry for bothering you ma'am.

How strange that this stranger would call a house that happens to have a chihuahua living here.
What I should have said was:
"Yes sir! Yes, I have a chihuahua, but no sir, she is not for sale. I think I'll keep her."

What did he just say?

"Your Father knows exactly what you need even before you ask him!"
Matthew 6:8

When you don't know what it is you need. God knows.
When you think you can't pray because you don't know what to say. God knows.
When you think you just can't go on anymore. God knows.

He knows what you need even before you know. He loves you and He will do anything for you.
Rely on God and let him take care of you. He will help.

The phone man was here trying to figure out what was wrong with the phone line that runs to my alarm. You see, I'm a chicken and I need that alarm turned on at night. Especially when Loren is not in town.

I was outside with the phone man while he was trying to explain to me what he found wrong with my phone line. Apparently, I'm not feeding my gophers enough, because they are eating my phone line. I think it's just because they are too scared to come out of their holes because Cinnamon will kill them. So they just stay underground trying to find food and when they have eaten all they can, they start on the phone line.

While talking to this nice phone man, underwear boy (better known as little boy) opens the garage door and yells loud enough for even the cows in the pasture to hear,
"Mom, get your big fat butt back in here!"

Umm, what did he just say?

My face started to burn, I think I was actually under tanning lights or something. The phone man suppressed a giggle and I said in my June Cleaver voice, through clenched teeth.
"OK, buddy, I'll be in in a minute"

I really don't remember much of the rest of the conversation, because I was thinking of all the things I wanted to do to underwear boy. You know, should I hang him upside down from the ceiling fan? Should I duct tape him on the wall in his underwear, those kind of things.

When I came in, I took care of underwear boy. No, I didn't hurt him (too bad). He's still up and about trying to harass the little dog, so I guess he's OK.

Is the phone for me?

"Man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart."
1 Samuel 16:7

No matter how many wrinkles or gray hairs we have, God loves us anyway. He looks at our hearts. And when we fill our hearts with his word and through prayer, it doesn't matter what we look like on the outside because he sees our heart. And he knows.

I often wonder why it is that a phone is a magnetic attraction for kids. I can be doing laundry, sweeping, mopping, cleaning windows (oh wait, I don't do that). But it doesn't matter what I'm doing, the kids are destroying the house on their own. As soon as that phone rings and I am on it, they want my undivided attention.

It doesn't matter who I'm talking to on the other end of that phone, they come running and start jumping on me or doing that poke. You know, the one that they use their pointer finger and start poking or jabbing your arm or rib with. Poke, poke, poke, poke, jab harder, jab harder, poke jab, poke jab, until you acknowledge them.

They don't really care what they want to tell you, they just want you to listen. Every once in a while they know I'm distracted on the phone and they do something crazy like use my curling iron to iron plastic blue hair. But for the most part, they just want to tell me something.

Like the time I was on the phone and Isaac was jabbing me to tell me that Noah was jumping off the bunk bed with a sheet as his cape, because he was superman. Or the time that Noah was trying to climb (literally) the walls because he was dressed in his spiderman costume and well, that's just what spiderman does. Or when Noah was trying to swing off the hanging light fixture that is over the kitchen bar area.

Isaac has done his share of things, like when Noah came in to poke me to tell that Isaac was going to blow something up. When I sneak up on him, he's put the air mattress pump attatched to a cable of some sort, then put into a lunch box so that the lunch box can blow up.

I say they get these ideas from their daddy!

I guess I'd rather have him try to blow up a lunch box than blow up his brother. That's another story.

It doesn't matter if I lock myself up in the bathroom, the closet or in the vehicle, they find me. I guess it's their way of telling me to keep it short. Gotta love them!!
